Not all businesses have multidimensional Analysis as their first concern.

Many are more concerned about the intensity of analysis on select dimensions and care less for span of analysis. They don't see the need to have sight of every square of dimension that technology can uncover for them, and these are people who know their business well.

PIPS offers well-detailed narrow-band solutions in select areas for requirements like these. Each component addresses limited issues in well-contained Capsules. They are designed to help Businesses plug specific gaps not covered by their existing Solutions. To help the IT Managers extend the capabilities of their prevailing ecosystem and not worry about a full scale overhaul of their environment for the few gaps. When quite likely, there is no single solution out there that will cover all current gaps, let alone not introduce new ones. PIPS Capsules are very viable for requirements to plug specific gaps and are an equally excellent choice if intensity of analysis is high on priority.

Component Solutions are typically Business Solutions but can be Technology Solutions too. Some examples of Component Solutions are included here. The first two have been outlined to give a perspective of detailing, and a few more are listed. For a complete list of Solution Capsules and details on them, please contact us. Examples are

1. Style Groups for Analysis: Style Analysis is a challenge compared to other Factors because (a) there are no standard Industry Style Classification Schemes available, (b) there is no simple way in which Style Classes and Thresholds can be defined, and (c) there is no common Characterization Approach for Style Determination. Even Composites have more established approaches to declaring and defining them than Style (albeit people will live with less when it comes to accurate Style Determination, but will demand more from Composite Schemes even if both are to be used for similar Benchmark purpose finally). Back to us, PIPS offers a comprehensive Solution for Style Analysis based on Actual Holding as well as by Performance Comparison techniques.

2. Party Groups for Analysis: A Party Group can take a broader meaning when it comes to determination of Group Exposures - especially during periods of market distress. Party Groups can be by formal Group Structures (Group Companies). Or they can be defined as a Group by clubbing them for Common Economic Interest through Secondary Ownerships (EITSO). Or, they may be Party Groups by other Affiliations like by Geo, Political and Regional Groups, Market Caps, Revenues and Earnings Classes, Sectors and Industries, or by other Affiliation Categories.

Other Solutions Components includes ...

5. Securities Characterization: For ability to analyze performances on an entire range of Investibles. PIPS supports EQ, FI, Swaps, Options, other Derivatives, ABS, MBS, Funds, Hedge Funds and Fund of Funds for analysis.

6. Affiliation Structures: Maintains Schemes of all Affiliations like Ratings, Market Cap, Regionals etc together.

7. Quantitative Analytics Functions: For Aggregated Risk Calculations, RAPM Ratios, Financial Analysis Functions, Statistical Analysis Functions etc.

and many more. The more comprehensive Aggregation Analytics Functions like those on Positions, P&L, Risk and Performance are best implemented through the Framework Approach, though the carveout approach to limited implementation is always possible for well defined and well contained requirements.
